KIGAM new member of the SENSE Consortium

Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) of South Korea, is a new member of SENSE Consortium.

KIGAM was established in 1918 as the Geological Survey of Korea. Since then, KIGAM has been the only government-supported Geoscience Research Institute in Korea.

Korea’s best Geoscience minds dedicate their passions to various R&D fields and its utilizations:
• Energy & Mineral Resources
• Land and Environment Preservations
• Exploring New Science Fields for Solving Globally Emerging Geoscience Issues.

A good example is CO₂ geological storage, which is one of KIGAM’s main research areas, and its research works are essential in Korea’s CCS deployments.

KIGAM is located in Daejeon, in the middle of South Korea, south of Seoul. Here 30 government-funded research institutes are located as the complex science town in Korea.
